The Early Childhood Director leads Northgate's Sunday morning ministry for children ages 0–5. This role equips volunteers, partners with parents, and creates a welcoming, Christ-centered environment where every child experiences the love of Jesus and knows they belong.
Reports to: Associate Pastor
Time: 10-20 hours/week

QUALIFICATIONS
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Bachelor's degree in ministry, education, or a related field preferred
3–5 years of children's ministry, early childhood education or related leadership experience
Genuine love for young children and their families
Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and manage teams
Ability to address concerns with wisdom, compassion, and professionalism
Self-awareness in personal development and self-discipline in time management
Agreement with Northgate's doctrinal statement
RESPONSIBILITIES
Early Childhood Program
Develop the vision and strategy for Early Childhood ministry to ensure that every child ages 0–5 experiences the love of Jesus and knows they belong within the church family.
Oversee and execute the the programming elements of the Nursery, Toddler, and Preschool spaces for Sunday morning Kid’s Ministry.
Oversee administrative responsibilities (attendance, scheduling, curriculum, supplies, background checks, communication, etc.).
Ensure classrooms, equipment, and ministry spaces are prepared, organized, and maintained.
Volunteer Development
Recruit, equip, and schedule volunteer leaders, teachers, and coaches.
Maintain an encouraging volunteer culture where leaders feel supported and valued.
Provide ongoing coaching and equipping to help volunteers grow in their ministry.
Parent Partnership
Build strong relationships with parents through consistent communication and care.
Partner with families in the spiritual development of their children.
Respond to questions and concerns with wisdom, compassion, and professionalism.
Additional Kid’s Ministry Support
Support Wednesday night kid's ministry as needed.
Assist with Mega and other major kid's ministry events in alignment with church priorities.
