Lead disciple-making efforts of middle and high school students at Northgate Church
Reports to: Associate Pastor
Time: 15 hours/week and additional as needed
Job Period: Sep 1, 2026 - May 31, 2027
The Overview
Northgate Church is seeking part-time Interim Youth Director who is a Christ-centered & relational leader. This individual will provide leadership and oversight to our student ministry, helping students grow in their relationship with Christ while partnering with parents and volunteers to create a welcoming and discipleship-focused environment. This temporary position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people while serving alongside a committed church family.
A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Education or experience in youth ministry or a related field
Genuine relatability and love for teens and their families.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and manage teams
Proven ability to teach and lead discussion around biblical passages and topics
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Agreement with Northgate’s doctrinal statement

RESPONSIBILITIES
Youth Bible Class (Sunday Mornings)
Prepare YBC teachers to be effective on Sunday mornings
Occasionally teach YBC (1 of every 3 months)
Youth Group (Sunday Evenings)
Lead a safe, fun, and engaging program where 6th-12th graders can grow in their faith
Maintain a culture of mentorship where adult leaders build genuine relationships where students feel known, included, and loved
Equip, inspire, and prepare volunteer leaders to be effective on Sunday evenings
Teach the Bible Lesson at Youth Group
Administrative Responsibilities
Manage schedule of YBC teachers and Youth Group volunteers
Manage and update contact info, attendance, budget, applications, ordering curriculum, etc.
Consistently communicate and partner with parents in the discipleship of students.
Coordinate and lead special activities that provide teens with opportunities to build deeper relationships and invite their friends. (Fall Party, Christmas Party, Winter Retreat, Nerf Night)
