“Hearts for Haiti” Sew-In
Saturday, March 24, 2018, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm
The third annual “Hearts for Haiti” Sew-In will be held to support Northgate’s Chris Pfeiffer and the ESPWA Foundation (www.espwa.com). In addition to the Clay Mission Project, our quilting ministry will make baby quilts for the New Hope Hospital in Haiti. Dr. Eugene Malkin who works at the hospital is associated with Chris and the ESPWA Foundation and is grateful for the quilts we have made and sent. With the birth of each baby, the new mom receives one of our quilts to wrap their newborn in. What joy it is for us to know these babies are wrapped in our prayers and love.
We invite all to join us regardless of sewing skill - we need volunteers to sew, iron fabric or be a helper. Each job is important to the completion of the project.
Please bring your sewing machine and accessories if you have one. If you don’t, we have a limited number of machines that can be used as well as scissors, etc. Our session will start with coffee and pastries and lunch will be served as well.
Please look for the sign-up table in the foyer. If you have any questions, please contact Shari Shimeall, 412-369-8859 or Joanne Smisko, 412-720-6297.
